Galarian Yamask first appeared in Pokemon Sword and Shield as one of the 14 variants of the original Galar, namely Pokémon from the previous generation that had different displays and types in the Galar region.

Unlike Yamask Gen 5 in general, Galarian Yamask is a ground and ghost-type Pokémon. It also evolves into Gen 8 Pokémon Runerigus, not Cofagrigus.

How to catch the Galarian Yamask

The easiest way to catch Galarian Yanmask in Pokémon Go is to complete the Special Request quest, A Spooky Message Unmasked .

Thus, you will meet Galarian Yamask, who you can have as a Buddy to collect more Yamask Candies if needed and, eventually, evolve into Runerigus.

It’s important to note that A Spooky Message Unmasked was released as part of the Halloween 2020 event, so, if you didn’t sign in to Pokémon Go during this event or created your account afterward, there is a chance that you won’t be able to access it.

How to evolve Yamask Galarians into Runerigus

After you catch Galarian Yamask in Pokémon Go, you will most likely want to evolve into Runerigus. If you’ve played Pokémon Sword or Shield (or both) then you’ll find that this can be a pretty interesting process and Pokémon Go is no different.

In order to evolve Yamask Galarian into Runerigus, you need 50 Yasmask Candies and compete in 10 raids.
